A little bit about me
I hope you will find me easy to talk to and down to earth.
I was born and raised in Essex and lived in the North East, Hampshire, South Wales, Leeds and Cairo before ending up in Hertfordshire over 20 years ago.
After many years of pastoral support in primary and secondary education, I trained to become a counsellor. Working with young people taught me the importance of feeling seen and heard. If someone is truly listening to us, we can heal and grow.
Before going into private practice, I was the Family Therapist for South and West Herts Cancer and Palliative Care Psychological Services. Prior to that, I was the Senior Family Support Therapist at my local hospice working with families facing bereavement, illness, and end of life. I have also worked with the local Rape Crisis Centre counselling people who have experienced sexual abuse.
I am an Approved Therapist for the Metanoia Institute’s BSc Advanced Person-Centred Counselling (Pluralistic) degree course.
As a registered member of the BACP, I abide by their ‘Ethical Framework for the Counselling professions’. I have regular supervision to ensure that my work with you is safe and ethical.
