Frequently asked questions.
What can I expect in my first counselling session?
.Your first session is an opportunity for you to share what brings you to counselling and what you hope to achieve. It is time for us to get to know each other. I will ask some questions to better understand your situation and what you would like to gain from counselling. It’s also a chance for you to ask questions and see if you feel comfortable moving forward together.
How long does each counselling session last?
Each counselling session lasts 60 minutes, although this can vary depending on your needs. For example, some young people are more comfortable with a slightly shorter session, and some clients who can only access therapy monthly prefer a longer session. I will discuss session length and frequency with you at the start of our work together.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions depends on many factors, and we will discuss this at our first session. Some clients prefer to plan for a fixed number of sessions, while others are comfortable with longer-term work. I am practised in offering both short and long-term counselling, and in both cases I offer regular reviews of our work together to ensure you are getting what you need.
Do you offer online or remote counselling?
